From Stillness to Strength: Walking Daily in the Deep End of Peace
Dear Family,
Last week, we dove into what it means to truly live in the deep end of peace not just dipping in during quiet moments but dwelling there every day. We talked about how stillness is more than the absence of noise; it’s a steady posture of the heart that keeps us from being tossed around by life’s waves.
This weekend, I experienced a living example of that peace in motion at the DeLoach Family Day Gathering. Family from all over came together laughter filled the air, stories were swapped, hugs were exchanged, and joy overflowed. It was a beautiful reminder that peace is not only personal… it’s also communal. There’s something about being surrounded by love that reinforces the stillness God plants within us.
Peace in Motion
When we live from a place of stillness, our relationships shift. We stop reacting from fear or offense, and we start responding from love. We notice the beauty in people, the good in the moment, and the blessings in our lives even in small things.
Colossians 3:15 tells us, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” This verse isn’t just about personal peace — it’s about the peace that flows through us to others.
From the Deep End to Daily Life
True peace becomes strength when we take it beyond prayer time and into every part of our day:
In conversations – choosing to listen before speaking.
In challenges – trusting God’s control when our own is limited.
In celebrations – soaking in the joy without rushing to the next thing.
The peace you carry can set the tone for your home, your relationships, and even unexpected encounters with strangers.
Reflection & Action Steps This Week:
Identify your peace-breakers – What situations tend to pull you out of your deep end?
Guard your stillness – Just like a precious treasure, peace needs protection.
Be the calm – Whether it’s at work, in family life, or in public, bring the tone of Christ’s peace into the room.
Family let’s not just visit peace let’s walk in it, live in it, and let it flow out of us like a river that never runs dry. Just like this weekend’s family gathering reminded me, peace grows deeper when shared.
With love and stillness,
Christalyn Evette
